There’s a couple of great races this week and a triathlon for those looking to see what the fuss is all about. Speed seems to be aggravating the hip at the moment so I’ll be sitting these races out, but you don’t want to miss these!
Stockwell Stallion May Day 5K – May 1st
This will be a 5K held tonight at Stockwell Elementary on Shed Road. Race is $25 or $15 for 12 and under. Race will start at 6:00

New Balance Uptown 5K – May 5th
The race will be held Saturday on may 5th at the Line Avenue Shopping Center (Brookshires and Starbucks). This is a fun race through South Highlands neighborhood on Fairfield and Line. Race is $20 or $25 on race day. Pre-register to receive a Uptown 5K tech t-shirt. First place overall male and female and runner-ups will receive a free pair of New Balance shoes from the New Balance store in the Uptown shopping center. Race starts at 8:00

Sunrise Triathlon 1 – May 6th
Sunrise Triathlon 1 will take place Sunday, May 6th at the Town South pool. This tri will feature a 400 yd pool swim, 11 mile bike, and 2 mile run and is great for someone who is interested in getting started in triathlons. Race is $45 for club member or $65 for non-member. Race will start at 7:30 and participants will be seeded by swim time.
